One of the main events at the 34th Grand Henham Steam Rally will be a pageant looking at the development of road passenger transport from the stage coach to the modern bus. The pageant, that will be staged in the main ring, is being organised with the co-operation of the Ipswich Transport Museum and the East Anglia Transport Museum. In addition to this and the large displays of steam engines and other vintage vehicles for which this event has become synonymous, the rally also offers a comprehensive programme of family entertainment that this year will include the following: Elaine Hill Sheep Dog Display
Suffolk’s own marching pipe band will be performing in the Grand Ring (Sunday only) Other attractions in the ring include a display of heavy horses and on the Sunday displays by the Southwold & Reydon Corps of Drums and the Urban Allstars majorettes. This death defying display has become a regular attraction at the Henham Steam Rally and will be appearing once again by popular demand. For children there will be performances by ‘Professor Jingles’ ‘with his Punch & Judy show and fun and magical entertainment from ‘Andy the Clown’ On the Band Stand the Ipswich Hospital Band will be performing on Saturday, returning by popular demand, with the Woodbridge Excelsior Band on Sunday making their first appearance at the rally. The popular Lowestoft Signing Choir will also be performing on both days. Craft marquee and model engineering exhibition including ‘ride-on’ miniature railway and model aircraft flying display. Vintage and modern Fairground The rally also has avenues of trade stalls, food stalls and a large licensed bar.

Elaine runs a small sheep farm in Yorkshire and travels the country competing in sheep dog trials and giving demonstrations. At the Rally the demonstration will include geese, ‘dancing ducks’ and feature audience participation.Glenmoriston Pipe Band
